Freelance UX/Graphic Designer
Freelance designer working on various user interface, graphic and packaging related projects.
User Interface Design
“GaneShane” iPhone/Android app design (Client – Gane'Shane' LLC, Seattle, WA)
- The mobile apps allow users to browse through the top 100 most popular Indian songs, drill down into song specific details, stream them and purchase them through iTunes.
- I was responsible for the complete user interface, graphic design (including icon design).

“GaneShane” – an Indian music site (Client – Gane'Shane' LLC, Seattle, WA)
- The project was to design and develop an Indian music website. I was responsible for the complete frontend design and development.
- Carried out requirements gathering in consultation with the client.
- Leveraged a thorough understanding of Indian music categorization to develop the site’s information architecture.
- Created wireframes and high-fidelity UI mockups. Developed a site-wide consistent look and feel based on target web audience. Extended this visual identity to the mobile apps.
- Developed web pages using table-less CSS. Leveraged YUI to maximize cross-browser compatibility. Optimized the HTML structure for the AJAX enabled site.
- Worked closely with backend developers in the US and India. The backend was developed using Ruby on Rails.
Compliance lab workflow management web app (Client – Labflows Inc., Mountain View, CA)
- The goal of the web application was to digitize the quality process followed at NTS (National Technical Systems). The process is based on the IS0 17025 standard.
- The web application enables creation of custom workflows that model the client’s in-house process.
- The web application served two distinct personas – the workflow designer and the workflow user. The designer defines the custom workflow comprising of a series of activities, rules that connect successive activities and forms to collect data for each activity. The user works within the pre-defined workflow to report, track and resolve test issues.
- I created detailed wireframes to represent the interface of the two views and to define the interaction amongst the interface elements.
- The front-end was implemented in Adobe Flex and the backend in Adobe Filemaker.
- The project team was distributed geographically across California, Atlanta and Serbia.
Other clients include – Science House, Sikh Foundation, Terrier Services and TBD USA Inc.
Graphic Design and Packaging
- Designed a print-ready 2009 and 2010 Sikh fine-arts calendar for the Sikh Foundation
- Designed vibrant labels for a range of cleaning products manufactured by BDN Pharmaceuticals.
- Built a clay prototype of an ergonomic soap dispenser bottle. Created a tool-ready 3D model in Solidworks.

Winner of Core77’s 1 Hour Design Challenge for coming up with an eco-friendly alternative to the ubiquitous plastic bag.
